Seth was great. Very professional. diagnosed the problem quickly and set up the follow up repairs and parts for us.
Dehumidifier and humidifier in basement functioning properly. Water on humidistat set to 40% and operational during heat call as it should. No accessories upstairs
Electrical disconnect was discovered melted internally and needed replaced. Quote for replacement was accepted performed removal and replacement of disconnect 30amp fuses. Outdoor coil needed washed homeowner cleaned ac coil while I set stuff up inside. Started unit up and found it running at 70psi on suction. Unit needed 2lbs r410a to get superheat where it should be. Charged unit in pouring rain. Add leak stop/dye additive to assist with future leak searches and attempt to prevent leaks
Platinum Cooling preventative maintenance performed Check filter - 210 12/24 advised to change within two months Check coil for any buildup or debris in drain pan and treat with tablets Set up thermometers Rinse down outdoor coil with garden hose Check capacitor MFD - new no concerns Verify pressures and SC/SH 10° subcool Delta T - 18° @ 47° The Air handler and AC are in optimal running conditions.
Two Waterfurnace 5 Series split systems running in new condition. Both 20x25x4 air filters are in new condition. Flushed drain pans and drain lines. Setup first floor stat to operate fan whenever humidity is being called for. Ran test each system in cooling mode. Measure refrigerant pressures through Aurora Aid Tool system. Refrigerant pressures are within spec. Non pressurized flow centers are at a proper level and vs pumps are operating properly. Fault history contains only normal operation codes such as FP1, HW Limit, and system resets. No issues found or suspected with units at this time. Systems are operating properly, efficiently and ready for Summer.
Upon arrival, thermostat was in cooling mode calling for cooling with no movement from outdoor unit. Air is blowing inside. Upon further inspection, found 60/5mfd capacitor has failed out of the +/-6% allowable range, and is reading 13/0mfd. Replace capacitor under parts warranty. Labor is not under warranty. Upon new capacitor install, outdoor fan kicks on but compressor does not. Compressor head thermal limit is properly protecting the compressor from getting too hot by not allowing it to stay running. Cool off compressor with garden hose. After compressor is cooled off, system comes on and operates as it should. Did not check refrigerant pressures as there is no issues suspected at this time. If this issue with wailing capacitors persists, recommend installing a hard start kit to take some of the load off of the run capacitor.
2022 Carrier AC running in great condition. 20x25x4 air filter in good condition. Check again in 1-2 months. Visual inspection of indoor coil. Flush drain pan and drain lines. Run test unit in cooling mode from thermostat. Delta t of 21F with supply temp of 49F. Refrigerant pressures are within spec. High 240psi with 11F SC, low 110psi with 14F SH. Outdoor coils are in clean condition. Dual run capacitor is within spec. Outdoor fan motor and compressor are running within spec. System is operating properly, efficiently and ready for Summer.
Construction warranty. Humidifier was not wired to the furnace. Wired everything up Setup humidifier on the thermostats Adjusted humidity settings Verified correct operation No water leaks Gave a tutorial of the system Explained operation and expected behavior of the equipment Leveled aprilaire dehumidifier Adjusted dehumidifier set point to 55% It was set to 45% and never shut off, he said
Perform Geothermal Cooling Maintenance. Check loop pressures and temperatures at both in and out sources on unit. Everything within parameters. Checked delta T across air coil and 21° delta T, 45mfd run capacitor new last year still within spec. Unit is operating properly and should be ready for the season.
Diagnose green moisture around geothermal originally thought to be generating at the sump pump but now suspicious of geothermal. Ground loop pressure is at 0 psi and green glycol is visible and saturated at the insulation of the ground loop swivel fittings on the Geo package unit Upper "source out" swivel fitting has a leaking T&P port at the threads. Shut down system and isolate indoor unit to replace service port. Replace two feet of armaflex insulation on both service lines and repressurize equipment to 55 PSI, maximum well water pressure at the home Water flush condensate drain Computer scan confirms 0 service codes Recommend annual maintenance to prevent service interruptions and additional damage
Corrected the vacuum lines and zone is properly operational
Install humidifier, and dehumidifier. Pipe both units into system ductwork and wire units into control board.
Replace and properly seal geothermal ground loop line insulation between flow center and split compressor unit Install PVC vent intake pipe drain kit BAYCOND 3"
